Wall Street today: Nasdaq tanks 2.86%, Dow Jones & S&P 500 fall over 1.5% amid Trump tariff reversal

US stock indices opened lower on Thursday after President Donald Trump’s move to temporarily lower the heavy tariffs on dozens of countries.

At the opening bell, the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 611.5 points, or 1.51%, to 39,996.93. The S&P 500 fell 103.7 points, or 1.90%, to 5,353.15​, while the Nasdaq Composite dropped 489.5 points, or 2.86%, to 16,635.454.
