SPML Infra secures ₹617.98-crore irrigation project in Jharkhand

SPML Infra Limited has signed a contract agreement with the Water Resource Department of Hazaribagh for a ₹617.98-crore irrigation project in Jharkhand, the company announced today. The project, part of the Konar Irrigation Project, will be executed on a turnkey basis in partnership with Vijay Kumar Mishra Construction.

The shares of SPML Infra Limited were trading at ₹17 up by ₹8.38 or 5 per cent hitting its upper band today on the NSE at 12.20 pm.

The initiative aims to enhance irrigation infrastructure across 12,599.43 hectares of agricultural land spanning three blocks in Jharkhand: Bisnugarh (Hazaribagh), Nawadih (Bokaro) and Dumri (Giridih).

Work scope includes reconstruction and strengthening of the main canal, right branch canal and associated distributaries. The project will also involve constructing an approach channel, canal lining, a solar-powered pump house and a pressure pipe water conveyance system.

The pipeline network will feature MS, DI and HDPE pipes up to 1,200mm in diameter with an advanced pipe distribution network. The contract includes a 10-year operation and maintenance phase post-construction.

SPML Infra’s Chairman Subhash Sethi stated the project aligns with the company’s commitment to sustainable water management solutions that enhance agricultural productivity.

The company, ranked 14th among global private water companies according to Global Water Intelligence, has executed over 700 projects during its 44-year history, providing clean drinking water to more than 50 million people across India.
