Reliance NU Energies Private Limited, a subsidiary of Reliance Power Limited, has secured the largest allocation in SJVN’s latest renewable energy tender, the company announced Monday. The firm won 350 MW of solar generation capacity paired with 175 MW/700 MWh of battery energy storage system (BESS) capacity through a competitive bidding process.

The shares of Reliance Power Limited were trading at ₹42.92 up by ₹4.27 or 11.05 per cent on the NSE today at 10.25 am.

The project was awarded at a tariff of INR 3.33/kWh fixed for 25 years, making it among the most competitively priced integrated solar-storage projects in India. The tender saw participation from 19 entities and was oversubscribed by more than four times.

Upon completion, the installation will add 600 MWp of solar PV capacity and 700 MWh of energy storage to Reliance Power’s portfolio. This latest win positions Reliance Power as India’s largest player in the integrated Solar + BESS segment, with a total clean energy pipeline of 2.5 GWp solar and over 2.5 GWhr BESS capacity.

The project requires a minimum four-hour daily discharge window to enable assured peak power delivery to state distribution utilities.

This development follows Reliance Power’s recent 25-year Power Purchase Agreement with the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) for what it describes as Asia’s largest integrated Solar and BESS project, featuring 930 MW of solar capacity paired with 465 MW/1860 MWh BESS, representing an investment of up to ₹10,000 crore.

Reliance Power currently operates a portfolio of 5,305 megawatts, including the 3960 MW Sasan Power plant.
