New Delhi, Jun 28 (KNN) On the occasion of MSME Day 2025, the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) has unveiled a vital new initiative to boost financial literacy and ease credit access for small businesses across the country.

The handbook, titled “Know Your Lender, Grow Your Business” (KYL-GYB), was officially launched today and is aimed at empowering MSMEs to navigate the formal credit system more confidently and effectively.

The KYL-GYB handbook is a comprehensive and user-friendly guide that demystifies the lending process and highlights the rights and entitlements of MSMEs in the credit ecosystem.

It compiles vital regulatory directions, institutional guidelines, and government schemes into an accessible format designed specifically for small business owners and entrepreneurs.

This initiative reflects the Ministry’s commitment to promoting inclusive financial growth by ensuring that MSMEs—considered the backbone of India’s economy—are equipped with the knowledge needed to make informed borrowing decisions.

The handbook provides insights into collateral-free credit options, grievance redress mechanisms, credit ratings, fintech lenders, digital lending processes, and government-backed credit guarantee schemes.

Speaking on the release, a Ministry spokesperson said, “By promoting transparency and responsible borrowing, the KYL-GYB handbook will serve as a critical tool for MSMEs striving for growth and formal financial inclusion.”

All banks, financial institutions, and relevant stakeholders are encouraged to disseminate the handbook widely and ensure its availability on institutional portals.
