Mahindra posts robust March sales; EVs drive momentum

The shares of Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd closed at ₹2,530.50, up by ₹6.85 or 0.27 per cent on the NSE today.

Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd has posted robust sales figures for March 2025, with total vehicle sales reaching 79,751 units, marking a substantial increase from the 66,840 units sold in March 2024.

The company’s utility vehicle segment performed particularly well, with models like the Thar and Thar Roxx seeing combined sales rise to 8,936 units, up from 6,049 units in the previous year. The XUV3XO petrol variant registered impressive numbers with 5,399 units sold in March 2025.

Electric vehicles emerged as a significant growth area for the automaker. The newly introduced Electric Origin SUV recorded 3,014 sales in March 2025. The company’s electric three-wheeler, Treo, saw sales surge to 5,705 units, more than doubling from 2,191 units in March 2024.

Exports also showed positive momentum, increasing to 4,143 units from 1,573 units in the same month last year, representing a 163% growth. The XUV700 petrol model was a major contributor to export figures with 1,299 units.

Production figures for March 2025 stood at 88,701 units, up from 71,814 units in March 2024, indicating the company’s preparation for continued market demand. The report, filed on April 7, 2025, includes sales data from Mahindra Electric Automobile Limited and Mahindra Last Mile Mobility Limited.

Despite the overall positive performance, some models like the Bolero diesel saw a slight decline in sales, dropping to 8,031 units from 10,347 units in March 2024.
