KPIT Tech-Mercedes-Benz India to develop software-defined vehicles

KPIT Technologies announced today a strategic collaboration with Mercedes-Benz Research and Development India (MBRDI) aimed at accelerating the development of Software-Defined Vehicles.

The partnership, revealed in a press release dated April 28, 2025, will focus on enhancing innovation, reducing time-to-market, and improving efficiencies in vehicle technology.

The shares of KPIT Technologies Limited were trading at ₹1,231.8 up by ₹10.80 or 0.88 per cent on the NSE today at 3.10 pm.

The collaboration leverages KPIT’s expertise in mobility technologies to support Mercedes-Benz’s digital transformation journey. A key objective is rearchitecting the technology stack for next-generation vehicles, with KPIT providing cross-domain knowledge in enabling mobility transformation.

Mercedes-Benz is pursuing software development as a fundamental element of its global digital strategy. The luxury automaker aims to create an integrated software architecture that enhances vehicle functionality, user experience, and operational efficiency, while delivering continuous improvements through regular updates.

Kishor Patil, CEO of KPIT Technologies, expressed enthusiasm about partnering with MBRDI, noting his company’s commitment to addressing complex business challenges through cutting-edge technology and accelerating innovation based on decades of experience in mobility transformation programs.
