JTL Industries Limited has successfully implemented Direct Forming Technology (DFT) at its Mangaon, Maharashtra facility, the company announced today. The new technology increases the plant’s production capacity from 200,000 MTPA to 450,000 MTPA.

The shares of JTL Industries Limited were trading at ₹84.75 up by ₹3.33 or 4.09 per cent on the NSE today at 2.31 pm.

The DFT installation enables JTL to manufacture square tubes up to 350×350 mm and rectangular tubes up to 400×300 mm with thickness reaching 14 mm. This advancement is expected to expand the company’s SKU range from 1,200 to 2,000.

According to the company, the technology eliminates the need for roll changes during production, which will reduce downtime by 33 per cent and decrease downtime costs by 25 per cent. JTL also anticipates that the value-added product contribution will increase to over 50 per cent of its sales mix.

JTL Industries, based in Chandigarh, operates manufacturing facilities across Punjab, Maharashtra, and Chhattisgarh with a cumulative pipe manufacturing capacity of approximately 936,000 MTPA. The company produces GI Pipes, MS Black Pipes, Hollow Sections, and Solar Structures for industrial and infrastructural applications.

The company is recognized as a Star Export House in India and expects the DFT implementation to strengthen its market position in the steel tube industry.
