The three day India International Coffee Festival (IICF) 2025 will be organised in Bengaluru from April 24. The Speciality Coffee Association of India has been appointed as the nodal agency by the Coffee Board to organise the IICF, which will be held at Chamara Vajra on Jayamahal main road, Bengaluru.
DM Purnesh, President, Speciality Coffee Association of India, said IICF 2025 has received very good response from the coffee stakeholders. There will be over 100 stalls at the event including coffee companies, roasters, growers, equipment vendors, and also food stalls, he said.
“We’re going to have many championships like Barista Championship, Latte Art Championship, Brewer’s Cup Championship, Coffee in Good Spirits, Filter Coffee Championship among others. The finals of these championships will be conducted at the IICF,” he said.
Purnesh said the Board has given the permission for SCAI to conduct the IICF for next 10 years. SCAI, which has over 60 members, started as a coffee grower centric association. “Now we have expanded the scope to coffee growers, roasters, machinery, equipment importers, traders, curers and also the cafe owners,” he said.
India is the seventh largest producer of coffee in the world and also the fifth largest exporter. Over two-thirds of the 3.5 lakh tonnes of coffee produced in the country are exported. Per Crisil estimates, India’s domestic coffee consumption is estimated at 95,000 tonnes. India had organised the World Coffee Conference during September 2023.
