GPT Infraprojects secures ₹32.29 cr contract from eastern railway in kolkata

GPT Infraprojects Ltd has secured a new contract worth ₹32.29 crore from Eastern Railway, Kolkata, according to a regulatory filing made on May 15, 2025. The contract involves the manufacture and supply of Mono Block Pre-Stressed Concrete Line Sleepers.

The shares of GPT Infraprojects Ltd were trading at ₹141.10, up by ₹3.37 or 2.45 per cent, on the NSE at 3.14 pm today.

The infrastructure company, which specialises in railway projects, disclosed this information in compliance with SEBI regulations. This new order brings the company’s total order book to ₹3,488.65 crore, with this being the first order inflow reported for the fiscal year 2026.

GPTINFRA operates through two business segments: infrastructure and sleeper manufacture. The Kolkata-based company executes civil and infrastructure projects, particularly large bridges and railway overbridges (ROBs), for government contracts.

In the sleeper segment, the company produces concrete sleepers for railways in India and Africa. It currently maintains manufacturing facilities in Panagarh (West Bengal), as well as international locations including Ladysmith (South Africa), Tsumeb (Namibia), and Eshiem (Ghana). The company claims to be the only Indian firm with concrete sleeper business operations across these African nations.
