GJEPC Hosts Seminar In Ujjain To Boost Jewellery Exports & MSME Growth

Bhopal, Mar 4 (KNN) The Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) organised a one-day seminar in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, on March 2nd, focusing on export promotion and support for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the jewellery sector. 

The event, which attracted over 100 jewellers, was conducted in collaboration with several local trade associations, including the Sarafa Association of Freeganj, Silver Gold Merchant Associations of Lakherwadi and Patni Bazaar, and the Nayapura Association.

Ms. Kalavati Yadav, Chairperson of Ujjain Municipal Corporation, and Mr. Sanjay Agarwal, BJP President, presided over the inauguration ceremony. 

Both officials emphasised the crucial role exports play in driving economic growth and assured attendees of the state government’s commitment to supporting infrastructure development and export initiatives specifically tailored for Madhya Pradesh’s gem and jewellery sector.

The seminar featured presentations from industry experts addressing critical aspects of the jewellery trade relevant to MSMEs. 

Mr. Nilesh Trivedi, Assistant Director of MSME, Madhya Pradesh, provided comprehensive information about government schemes available to support small and medium enterprises. 

Ms. Aakansha Mishra, representing the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) in Bhopal, delivered insights on the importance of hallmarking for maintaining quality standards in jewellery production and retail.

Mr. Mithilesh Pandey, Director of Membership at GJEPC, conducted a detailed presentation highlighting the Council’s role in facilitating exports for jewellery businesses. 

Participants received valuable information about various GJEPC initiatives designed to support their export ventures, including trade shows such as the India International Jewellery Show (IIJS), IJEX, Dubai exhibitions, international business networking opportunities, and details about the PM Vishwakarma scheme aimed at supporting traditional artisans and craftspeople in the sector.
