Shares of Warburg Pincus-backed Fusion Finance soared 8 per cent to ₹185 on Wednesday after the company has raised ₹800 crore through rights issue.
The small-cap NBFC company shares has gained 41 per cent from its rights issue price of ₹131 a share. The rights issue, which closed last Monday, was subscribed 1.5 times.
With today’s rally, Fusion Finance shares have soared more than 30 per cent in last one month.
The proceeds of the rights issue will be used for enhancing the NBFC’s capital adequacy to strengthen its relative position in the Indian microfinance sector.
The company’s rights issue saw participation from existing institutional investors, including promoters Honey Rose Investment, an affiliate of Warburg Pincus LLC and Creation Investments Fusion LLC.
Devesh Sachdev, Managing Director, Fusion Finance said the additional capital will reinforce balance sheet, enabling the company to capitalise on the emerging opportunities while continuing to deliver sustainable value to stakeholders.
