New Delhi, Aug 7 (KNN) The Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO) has entered into a strategic partnership with Amazon India through a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at accelerating e-commerce exports by micro, small, and medium enterprises across the country.

The agreement establishes a framework for collaborative policy development, infrastructure support, and enhanced awareness of digital export opportunities for Indian businesses.

The MoU was formalised in New Delhi by Ajay Sahai, Director General and CEO of FIEO, and Chetan Krishnaswamy, Vice President of Amazon India.

The partnership includes the formation of a dedicated e-commerce export task force to address policy frameworks and operational challenges facing exporters in the digital marketplace.

According to Sahai, the collaboration addresses the significant untapped potential within India’s MSME sector for global trade participation.

The partnership specifically targets capacity building for small businesses, including artisans, weavers, and manufacturers, enabling them to utilise e-commerce platforms for international market expansion.

The initiative is designed to help MSMEs overcome traditional export barriers and enhance their competitiveness in global markets.

The FIEO chief emphasised that the agreement represents a milestone in institutionalising the relationship between the two organisations to create a supportive ecosystem for e-commerce exports.

The partnership is expected to increase global visibility of Indian products while working with stakeholders to identify and address sector-specific challenges.

Sahai also referenced recent government initiatives, including a new e-commerce hub scheme, which are expected to complement this partnership in boosting overall national exports.

Krishnaswamy positioned the collaboration as a significant step toward achieving India’s ambitious e-commerce export targets. The partnership supports India’s vision of reaching USD 200-300 billion in e-commerce exports by 2030.

Amazon has previously facilitated over USD 13 billion in e-commerce exports from India by 2024 and has committed to enabling USD 80 billion in cumulative exports by 2030. The partnership will leverage Amazon’s marketplace presence across more than 20 countries to benefit Indian exporters.

Srinidhi Kalvapudi, Head of Amazon Global Selling India, highlighted the importance of creating a comprehensive support ecosystem beyond product quality.

The collaboration aims to establish an accessible and scalable framework for Indian businesses to succeed in international markets.

By combining Amazon’s global infrastructure capabilities with FIEO’s institutional network, the initiative seeks to reduce operational barriers, improve export readiness, and enable entrepreneurs to develop sustainable export operations.

The program aligns with Amazon’s broader commitment to facilitate USD 80 billion in cumulative e-commerce exports from India by 2030.
