Amaravati, Jul 19 (KNN) The Andhra Pradesh government has established a high-level committee to oversee land allotment processes for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) operating under Public-Private Partnership (PPP) arrangements in the tourism sector.
The initiative aims to accelerate tourism development and foster entrepreneurship within the state.
The committee formation follows the implementation of the Andhra Pradesh Tourism Land Allotment Policy 2024–2029 and supports the broader Tourism Policy 2024–2029.
According to a government order issued Thursday evening, the newly constituted body will facilitate transparent allocation of government land to qualified MSME tourism projects.
The committee structure is designed to ensure efficient, sustainable, and investor-friendly implementation of projects across various tourism infrastructure sectors, including hotels, resorts, wellness centers, amusement parks, and MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) facilities.
Leadership of the committee will be assumed by the Vice Chairman and Managing Director of the Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (APTDC).
The Chief Executive Officer of the Andhra Pradesh Tourism Authority will serve as co-chairman, while the Executive Director (Projects) of APTDC has been appointed as member convener.
The committee composition includes representatives from the finance department, a transaction advisory consultant nominated by the APTDC Vice Chairman and Managing Director, the General Manager or Additional General Manager (PPP) from APTDC, and the Chief General Manager (Projects) from the Infrastructure Corporation of Andhra Pradesh (INCAP).
Industry and academic experts will be included as required for specific projects.
Technical officers, including the estate officer and chief engineer or superintending engineer of APTDC, will participate as invitees to provide technical scrutiny during decision-making processes.
The committee was formed based on proposals submitted by the APTDC Vice Chairman and Managing Director under Rule 6.2 of the land allotment policy.
The primary objective centers on creating a comprehensive ecosystem that encourages private investment while simplifying approval processes and ensuring sustainable tourism growth.
The APTDC Vice Chairman and Managing Director has been directed to take necessary steps to operationalise the committee and initiate transparent bidding procedures for MSME tourism projects.
