New Delhi, Mar 3 (KNN) Anand Agricultural University (AAU), through its Section 8 company AIC Anand Foundation, has sanctioned Rs 1.12 crore to ten agri-startups to drive innovation in the agricultural sector.
AAU has successfully incubated over 201 agri-startups, significantly contributing to Gujarat’s agricultural ecosystem.
AIC Anand Foundation operates the Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (RKVY) agribusiness incubator for Gujarat under the Union agriculture ministry’s Innovation & Agri-Entrepreneurship Programme.
During a recent startup seed fund awarding ceremony at AAU, successful startups from AAU’s incubation program were felicitated.
As part of this initiative, ten AAU-incubated startups were selected for funding, with a total sanctioned amount of Rs 1.12 crore. The first installment of Rs 50.80 lakh was disbursed at the event to support their growth and innovation.
These funded startups span various agricultural domains and have demonstrated potential for significant impact, according to AAU officials.
The selected startups include Fermedicius Labs and Harvtech, which integrate AI and robotics into agritech; One Bee Organic and Desert Energy Foods, focusing on organic food production; Pollan Fertilizer and Terramor Organics, developing natural agri-inputs; Agrobits Green Venture and Esha Sutram, which specialise in waste-to-wealth innovations; MN Sustainable Energy, which enhances farm equipment solutions; and Karbokisaan, which supports medicinal crop cultivation.
M K Jhala, director of research, dean of PG studies at AAU, and chairman of AIC Anand Foundation, emphasised the startups’ role in improving farmers’ welfare. AAU Vice-Chancellor Dr. K B Kathiria congratulated the startups, lauding their innovative ideas and societal contributions.
