Gurgaon, Apr 7 (KNN) ACME Group has announced plans to achieve Rs 10,000 crore in revenue from its solar module and solar cell manufacturing business by 2030, as part of its broader strategy to diversify beyond renewable energy generation.
In a company statement, ACME said the initiative aligns with its long-term vision of contributing to India’s clean energy goals while strengthening its presence in the solar equipment sector.
The group has already invested Rs 230 crore to establish a solar module manufacturing facility in Jaipur, Rajasthan, with an annual capacity of 1.2 GW. The plant, recently commissioned, currently employs over 700 people.
ACME’s new venture, under the entity ACME Renewable Equipment Manufacturing, will also see the establishment of a solar cell manufacturing unit.
The company has been listed on the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy’s (MNRE) Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM), a key recognition that boosts its eligibility for government-backed projects and private contracts requiring certified modules.
Chairman Manoj K Upadhyay said, “Our strategic entry into the renewable equipment manufacturing business aligns seamlessly with the Make in India initiative. Our Jaipur facility enhances supply chain control and will help reduce the cost of renewable power.”
India’s solar module manufacturing capacity is projected to grow from 80 GW in 2025 to 125 GW by 2030. With support from government schemes like PM-KUSUM, rooftop solar programs, and ALMM, the domestic market is set to expand rapidly.
ACME is positioning itself to tap both domestic demand and export opportunities, which could account for up to 32 per cent of output by 2030.
The move marks a significant shift in ACME’s business focus, strengthening its role across the solar value chain.
