Hyderabad, Mar 10 (KNN) Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has laid the foundation stone for four manufacturing units at the Electronics Manufacturing Cluster in Divitipally, Mahabubnagar District, Telangana.

The ceremony marked the beginning of construction for Amara Raja company’s GigaFactory-1, Lohum company’s critical minerals refining and battery recycling unit, Scell Energy’s cell casing manufacturing facility, and Altmin’s first LFP-CAM GigaFactory.

During the event, Minister Vaishnaw emphasised the government’s commitment to electric mobility, stating, “Electric mobility remains a focus area for the government and we are committed to developing the right infrastructure and ecosystem for the promotion and adoption of EVs.

The facility will feature 16 GW cell manufacturing capacity and a 5 GW battery pack plant, with a projected investment of Rs 9,500 crores over five years.

Once operational, the Amara Raja Giga Corridor is expected to generate employment for approximately 9,000 people, including 4,500 direct positions.

The Electronics Manufacturing Cluster is now fully occupied, with 307.47 acres allocated to four companies that have collectively projected an investment of Rs 10,574 crore.

These companies have committed to employing 19,164 people in total, including 5,864 direct positions and 13,300 indirect roles.

Jayadev Galla, Chairman and Managing Director of Amara Raja Energy and Mobility Limited, expressed his enthusiasm about the development, stating, “The Foundation Stone laying ceremony is a big step forward for our Company and the Group.

We are grateful to the Government of India under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and to Union Minister Aswini Vaishnaw for being proactive and pro-industry.”
