Ludhiana, Feb 20 (KNN) In a groundbreaking development for Ludhiana’s small business sector, the District Administrative Complex (DAC) will house a first-of-its-kind outlet dedicated to showcasing and selling products from micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and self-help groups (SHGs).

This initiative aligns with the Centre’s ‘One District One Product’ program and supports the broader ‘Make in India’ campaign.

Deputy Commissioner Jitendra Jorwal has authorised the establishment of a specialised kiosk within the DAC premises, allocating Rs 15 lakh for its development.

The facility, which will eventually be operated by a private entity, aims to provide a dedicated platform for local enterprises to market their products.

The initiative falls under the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance program, designed to strengthen the MSME sector’s capabilities and market reach.

During a review meeting attended by ADC (Rural Development) Amarjit Bains and CM’s Field Officer Kritika Goyal, Jorwal outlined the project’s comprehensive objectives.

The initiative seeks to promote innovation, foster new ideas, enhance operational practices, improve market access, support environmental initiatives, and increase financial guarantees for women-owned micro and small enterprises.

The outlet will also feature products crafted by local artisans, broadening its scope of offerings.

To ensure the project’s effective implementation, the Industries and Commerce Department has been tasked with creating a comprehensive directory of MSME and SHG products.

The department will also coordinate with these groups to facilitate their participation in the kiosk’s operations, ensuring they can effectively utilise this new platform for product display and sales.

This strategic approach demonstrates the administration’s commitment to strengthening the local business ecosystem while promoting indigenous products.
