Star Health and Allied Insurance Company Ltd, a standalone health insurance player, has announced the appointment of Rajeev Kher, Independent Director, as the Chairperson of its Board of Directors. The decision was taken at the Board meeting held on April 29, 2025.

This appointment is subject to regulatory approval from the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI), according to a statement.

Kher, former Commerce Secretary of India, has led key roles in the Environment and Commerce Ministries, served on the Competition Appellate Tribunal, and was instrumental in shaping the Foreign Trade Policy (2015–2020) and global trade negotiations.
