Oil & gas, consumer durables, IT and PSU Bank stocks show resilience, while other indexrs have slipped to trade in negative territory.
Market delivers volatile trend due to Indo-Pakistan geopolitical tension. Experts advised investors to be cautious due to high uncertainty regarding the fallout from the border tensions. Sensex rose 117.91 pts or 0.15 per cent to 80,336.28 as at 12.43 pm, and Nifty 50 was up 13.25 pts or 0.05 per cent to 24,341.75.
The volatility index surged 3.24 per cent to 17.49. Midcap and smallcap indices traded flat.

Auto sector has been in focus today following reports that President Donald Trump‘s administration will move to reduce the impact of his automotive tariffs. Nifty Auto index dipped 0.42 per cent to 22,258.95.
Shares of Motherson, Bharat Forge, MRF, Bosch and Tube Investments traded in positive territory, while TVS Motors slumped 3 per cent.
Banking stocks show resilience following RBI’s liquidity injection efforts.
A total of 2,796 stocks were traded on the National Stock Exchange, of which 1,299 advanced and 1,405 declined. About 54 stocks hit upper circuit and 39 hit the lower.
BSE, Solar Industries, ICICI Bank and Mazagon Dock were among the 27 stocks that hit 52-week highs.
Defence stocks including Bharat Forge, Bharat Electronics, HAL, Paras Defence and GRSE continued the upward momentum following defence deal worth ₹63,000 crore to secure 26 Rafale Marine combat aircraft.
BEL lad the gainers of Nifty 50 with 4.47 per cent surge to ₹318.70. Reliance Industries continued its gaining momentum for the second trading session post its Q4 results. The stock rose 2.66 per cent to ₹1,405.20 as at 12.37 pm.
On the flip side, Dr Reddy’s, UltraTech and Power Grid shares fell over 2 per cent.

Shares of Data Patterns, PNB Housing, BEML, and Atul lead gainers among smallcap, while Cochin Shipyard, Mazagon Dock, Prestige and BDL show significant gains among midcap stocks.
On the BSE, GRSE, Paras Defence and Cochin Shipyard rally 10-13 per cent, Tata Tech, AWL, Hatsun and Oberoi Realty slump 4-6 per cent.
In addition to PNB Housing, AWL Agri and Hatsun, shares of TVS Motor also react to Q4 show. PNB Housing jumped 10 per cent in early trade.
Meanwhile, Bajaj Finance, Bajaj Finserv, Trent, BPCL, Ambuja Cements, Schaeffler India, Vishal Mega Mart, Star Health and Allied Insurance and few other companies will announce their Q4 results today. Track live updates here
