Ola Electric, India’s largest pure-play EV company, began production of its first Roadster X motorcycle at its Futurefactory in Krishnagiri, Tamil Nadu, today. The company announced that deliveries will commence across India later this month.
The shares of Ola Electric Mobility Limited closed at ₹50.10, down by ₹0.10 or 0.20 per cent on the NSE today.
The new Roadster X series features several industry-first innovations, including patented brake-by-wire technology with single ABS and flat cables that improve packaging efficiency while reducing weight. The motorcycles are equipped with a mid-drive motor with integrated MCU, 4.3” LCD screen with USB, and are powered by the company’s MoveOS 5 operating system.
“Today’s roll-out celebrates not just a new product, but a new era for us and the industry,” said Bhavish Aggarwal, Chairman and MD of Ola Electric.
The motorcycles come with various advanced features including smart capabilities like advanced regeneration, cruise control, and reverse mode. The battery system boasts IP67 waterproof and dust-proof certification.
Pricing for the Roadster X series starts at ₹84,999 for the 2.5kWh model, with the top-end Roadster X+ 9.1kWh variant featuring “Bharat Cell” 4680 battery technology priced at ₹1,84,999. The premium model claims an impressive range of 501 km on a single charge.
The Roadster X launch represents Ola’s expansion beyond its existing electric scooter lineup as the company continues to push India’s electric mobility revolution forward.
